The Overall Idea:

The collages are created in a retro-futurism style, combining old and new, past and future in technologies and visuals.

Background.

Since our primary style is collage and newspaper-like, I suggest using halftone texture, watercolor texture, and different kinds of paper textures on the background. Colors and/or shadows will constantly be flowing, almost imperceptibly.

We create the background with a few geometric shapes and use the main element of MDL – the circle and half-circle.

We also use the primary colors of the branding style guide of MDL.

Transitions

All the transitions between shots are made by zooming into some elements, changing their form, or imitating the form of one element to another. We will also use the background and its elements to switch from one shot to another gradually.

Music

I've already picked a few music tracks to choose from. Yet, It's better to check how they sound with the video. I'll send it for you to listen to along with the rough cut or the 1st draft.

Typography

We use the Open Sans font with some serif (Lavigne | Old Standart) or handwritten font to emphasize key ideas.

The simple typography animation style is the way to go for this project: sliding, scaling, letter spacing, and typewriting (maybe skewing). Similar to the Apple video.

Shot #1

high-quality design program 01.jpg

The video opens with the MDL logo with a paper texture on it.

→ Master's Design Lab has designed its…

The logo zooms out, and the lady appears - close-up shot.

The gears in her head are rotating.

→ … high-quality design program to meet your needs and pursuing a design career.

The lady decreases in size, and the mountain appears from the left. The flag is set on the top of the mountain. The circles are constantly pulsing a little.

The text is typed either in the center of the shot or on the mountain.

The central circle fills on the inside and quickly scales up until it goes out of the screen boundaries revealing the next shot's background.
